Parking Fine for Lifesaver

The People
18th June 06

A HERO driver pulled over to save a man's life - and got a parking fine.
David Jacobs stopped when he spotted a drunk risking death by staggering along a busy road.
David dragged the man to safety in Coulsdon, Surrey, and dialled 999.
But CCTV cameras logged his details for an automatic £50 penalty.
A Transport for London official told him: "While I understand your reasons for stopping, they are not ones which can permit me to cancel the penalty."
